Plain-language summary: This site is run by an individual creator.
It uses Google Analytics, and only after you opt in: nothing loads from Google until
you click Accept. There is no newsletter database and no email is stored on the site.
No ads, no selling data, no third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics.
1. Who runs this site
This website (https://vikataylor.com) is operated by Vika Taylor, an independent designer
and creator. Contact: vika.taylor.one@gmail.com.
2. What data is collected and why
The site collects two kinds of data, both with your explicit consent:
Analytics (Google Analytics 4): only after you click "Accept" on
the cookie banner. Stores cookies that record anonymized session info: pages viewed,
referring source, approximate location (country or region, with IPs anonymized) and
device type. Used to understand which content is interesting to visitors. If you
decline, the Google script is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Email address: only if you choose to email me. The "Email me" box on
the home page does not send anything to a server: it opens your own email app with a
pre-filled message, and nothing is stored anywhere on this site. If you do write to me,
your message sits in my mailbox and nowhere else, and I use it only to reply or to let
you know when the portfolio launches. Ask me to delete it at any time:
vika.taylor.one@gmail.com.
3. Cookies
Cookies set by this site, all with default state DENIED until you opt in:
_ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics, set only after Accept. Lifetime: up to 24 months.
vt_consent (localStorage, not technically a cookie): remembers your consent choice for 180 days.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the
button (also in the footer of the home page). Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
4. Third-party services
Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA): analytics, loaded only after you accept. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc., USA): hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may temporarily process IP addresses and headers for security and routing. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
YouTube links: clicking a YouTube link takes you to youtube.com, which has its own privacy policy.
Fonts are served from this site itself, not from a third party, so loading this page sends your IP address to no one but the host.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / similar)
If you are in the EU, UK, or any region with similar privacy law, you have the right to:
Access the data held about you
Correct it
Delete it ("right to be forgotten")
Object to processing or withdraw consent
Receive a copy in a portable format
Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
If you are a California resident: I do not sell personal information. You have the
right to know what is collected and to request deletion, same process as above.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes to this policy
Updates to this page are dated at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the
main page.
Legal disclaimer: This privacy policy is a good-faith summary of the
site's data practices, not legal advice. If you operate a similar site and want to
reuse this text, have it reviewed by qualified counsel for your jurisdiction.
